Frank is Walking and Golfing Again

Your feet are the foundation for your entire body and bear all of your body weight. You walk on them. You run on them. You stand on them. If your feet are not aligned properly, the rest of your body will be out of alignment as well.

Frank used to love to take 5 to 6K walks with his daughter in the evenings but he noticed that the day after their walks, he experienced pain in his ankles, knees and lower back. And after playing 18 holes of golf, a game he loves almost as much as the walks he takes with his daughter, the symptoms and pain were even worse.

His daughter gave him a gift certificate to Foot Solutions where he received a thorough foot and gait analysis from a certified pedorthist. The assessment indicated that Frank was out of proper alignment and custom crafted arch supports were needed, along with properly fitted shoes and cushioned socks.

With his new pair of walking shoes, custom inserts and cushioned socks, Frank is now properly aligned and back to doing the activities he loves. He recently completed a 16-mile walk in just over 4 hours with little to no pain in his ankles, knees and lower back.

“Naturally, I felt tired the following day but I can honestly say that if I didn’t visit Foot Solutions, I could not have contemplated such a walk and I am also happy to say that I am out playing my much loved game of golf again.”

Rooting out body alignment problems and fixing them can turn you from someone that has trouble walking to someone that can move smoothly and efficiently. According to the American College of Sports Medicine, in optimal postural alignment, an imaginary vertical line passing through your center of gravity should intersect the center of most joints, and distribute body weight evenly on each side. However, few people’s alignment is perfectly balanced with their body weight. Improper alignment impedes performance in activities like walking and golf.

It’s time to show your feet some love and thank them for their support. The fit experts at Foot Solutions understand the pressure feet are under. With twenty-six bones in each foot, thirty-three joints and one-hundred-and-nineteen muscles and ligaments, even the tiniest flex of your foot displays its natural mechanical mastery. So, with a quarter of all the bones in our body being in our feet that walk on average, approximately four miles a day, we need to start paying them a little more attention. Whether your feet have high arches, low arches, or are flat, wide, or narrow; whether your toes cross over, or you have crooked feet; whether your feet are swollen while recovering from surgery; whether your feet have walked thousands of miles or can barely take another step, there is a solution for every foot.
